Congestion at Shanghai port. Your shipments could be delayed.
Shanghai container port continues to struggle with congestion as shippers attempt to load cargo prior to anticipated ocean freight rate increases at the beginning of May. To make matters worse, the port has also been affected by foggy weather conditions and the recent changes in vessel schedules following the restructure of vessel sharing agreements with the major new alliances. The current waiting times for vessels dependent on the terminal and service are around 48-52 hours, with some vessels being delayed by up to 10 days.
Thomas Kuehn from WTA UK said "WTA UK are working very closely with the port and shipping lines so we are able to keep our clients updated on the situation."
