Unit load device
A unit load device (ULD) is a removable aircraft part subject to strict civil aviation authorities’ requirements.
While WTA does not have its own warehouse, we complete ULD builds alongside our best-in-class third-party airfreight warehouse.
ULD is either an aircraft pallet or an aircraft container. The different airline pallet sizes make optimum use of the space available as well as make loading and unloading quick and easy. Both allow for a large amount of cargo to be bundled into a single unit.
Aircraft pallets
Secured using nets which hold the cargo in place during the flight.
Made of aluminium, this option allows goods to be adapted to the contour of the plane’s hold, providing optimum use of the space available.
Aircraft containers
Typically lightweight and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
As with ocean containers, many options are available depending on the intended use. Refrigerated, ventilated and insulated are just a few sought-after varieties.
