Deconsolidation centre
Deconsolidation is when a single shipment is broken down into smaller shipments and is then processed for moving inland to final delivery locations. These are completed in deconsolidation centres, which are warehouses found near ports and airports. These warehouses provide short-term storage (usually 24-48 hours) to allow you to deconstruct the shipments.
WTA have strong relationships with deconsolidation warehouses at all major airports and ports across the globe, and where needed can provide full deconsolidation services. We can also arrange onward transportation from the warehouse where needed.
A warehousing solution, that can reduce costs
Deconsolidation centres can massively help reduce inventory costs and costly long-term warehousing contracts, and combined with a WTA consolidation, can even provide flexible solutions for companies shipping smaller quantities.
All WTA deconsolidation centres meet the highest levels of security, with tracking continuing within the warehouses. We can also provide additional services at the centres, including:
- Barcode labelling
- EDI messaging
- Label creation
- Carton labelling
- Quality inspections
- Physical inventories
