WTA UK's CSR Accreditation Offers More Value for Shippers

World Transport Agency Ltd awarded silver CSR Accreditation

This week at World Transport Agency Ltd (WTA UK) we are pleased to have secured our official silver CSR accreditation, confirming our commitment to care.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility programme has always been paramount at the company. Official recognition is something we’re extremely proud of and we’re confident it provides tangible added value for our clients.

All businesses are under increasing pressure to behave responsibly and sustainably. Evidence of this work is becoming a big factor in consumers decision making, particularly regarding the environment. For this reason, WTA UK embarked on a 3-month application process to have our work over many years in this area officially recognised. Consequently, our suppliers, partners and clients in logistics can benefit from association with a responsible company.

Responsibility towards the environment, local communities, our workplace and charity.

The accreditation requires extensive evidence of responsibility across four different sectors, the environment, community, workplace and philanthropy.

Assessors were particularly impressed with our philanthropy and workplace.

A 10-year relationship with Butterfly House charity and a newly developing relationship with Francis House Children’s Hospice in Manchester is a particular source of pride for us. Both charities were chosen for the exceptional work they do for disadvantaged children in China and the UK.

Additionally, the exceptional staff training programmes, reward schemes and perks drew praise. Over 1/3rd of our workforce have been with us for a decade (15% boast 20+ years with us!). We believe this is a testament to the value we place in them. Experience running through the company is foundational to the service excellence offered to clients.

We believe this sort of responsibility attracts the right sorts of businesses to engage with us. Businesses that are compassionate and a source for good in the world. Where morals and ethics are on their mind day-to-day.

“The owners have a true, genuine interest in this area and that is seen throughout the business. CSR is something we talk about in everyone’s introduction. It is something we want to bring to life.”

Elaine Evans, WTA UK HR Director

Striving to do better for everyone’s benefit

Our work does not stop here. We aren’t interested in token gestures. We’re passionate about making a real positive impact for everyone’s benefit.

It has not escaped our attention that a gold CSR accreditation has just escaped our grasp on this occasion, but next time it won’t be so lucky.

We’re determined the CO2 tracker and digitalisation offered by our newly updated WTA Platform visibility tool will only add to our sustainability. Furthermore, we plan to appoint CSR Champions at each of our offices to keep up the momentum and continually strive for improvement.

If you want to cut costs on your logistical supply chain. Streamline processes, make it more efficient and sustainable, we’d love to have a conversation about how we could work together. Reach out below.
